The volunteers at Thistleyfield
Sheltered housing residents at Thistleyfield in Milnrow are enjoying some extra colour thanks to Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) volunteers.
The green-fingered employees made up 24 beautiful hanging baskets for the bungalows as well as replanting trees and creating three rockeries in the garden areas.
Amanda Beeley, Gary Sladen, Paul Leonard, Claire Lord and Jon Longden visited the sheltered housing scheme as part of RBH’s Our Team project which sees all employees carry out voluntary activities in neighbourhoods each year.
RBH Volunteer Co-ordinator Daniel Turner said: “Everyone had a great time putting their green fingers to the test and we know that the group’s efforts were really appreciated by the residents at Thistleyfield.
“This was a great example of how Our Team can make an immediate difference to an area and we’re looking forward to seeing RBH volunteers carry out more projects in the future.”
