Oulder Hill Community School

During the first week back after half term, there will be a whole school exam week for all years. Students should now have received their timetables for this week, and be revising both home and at school in readiness for these exams. This is good preparation for future exams, including GCSEs, and we encourage all students to work hard to ensure they can achieve their best results.

A group of dedicated Year 8 pupils completed a training course with the Local Authority around preventing young people from smoking. The DECIPHer – ASSIST programme was put in place to try and prevent the uptake of smoking in young people through peer influence and discussion. The pupils were requested to keep diaries of the conversations that they had with other pupils in their year and use the skills and information learnt on the course to alert people to the dangers and negative impact of smoking in an attempt to prevent more people from doing it. All of the children did a brilliant job and were a credit to the school.

School closes for half term on Friday 23 May at 2:50pm, we look forward to welcoming everyone back prepared for the whole school exam week on Monday 2 June.
