A big thank you for all of your generous donations for Bag2School. The bags were collected on Thursday and we will let you know soon how much has been raised.

As you know the Year 6 children will be sitting their SAT’s week commencing 12 May 2014 . It is VITAL that EVERY child is in school in plenty of time EVERY DAY. The children and staff have all worked extremely hard and we wish them all well for their tests. If your child is in Year 6 please ensure that he/she has plenty of sleep, drinks plenty of water and eats regularly between now and the end of next week. In addition, for the first time, the school will also be entering a number of children for the additional Level 6 tests. Good luck to all our Year 6 children.

Reminder Extended visits/holidays in Term Time
We know that all parents have been made aware through the Parent Handbook, School Website (www.hamerprimary.co.uk), Newsletter, Reception New Entrants meeting etc. that no holidays/visits in term time will be authorized, however there still seems to be a minority of parents/carers who are asking school to make special provision for their families. As you know, at Hamer we are fully committed to support children to realize their full potential. In order to achieve this, every child needs to be in school every day. Should parents choose to take children out of school despite this policy, the child could be removed from the school role after an unauthorised period of absence of 20 days or more. Thank you for continuing to work in partnership with us all.

Last week new contact forms were sent out to every class. We have still not received some children’s forms back. It is imperative that you return this form with up to date information on as this information will be needed in the event of an emergency or your child becoming unwell. The cut off for the contact form to be returned is Friday 16 May. Thank you.
