Police News - Rochdale East

Date published: 10 May 2014

Last weekend saw the start of the new Operation Rockport which focuses on Anti social behaviour across the Rochdale East Area.

A team of officers, PCSOs and Special Constables will be out in our police carrier with their sole focus being on reducing anti social behaviour (ASB) in our ASB Hotspot areas.

This Operation was first run a few years ago and was extremely successful in reducing ASB. Officers received a lot of positive feedback last weekend as youths were stopped and their details taken if they were in a 'hot spot' area. If officers see the same youths creeping up on a regular basis then further action will be taken such as warning interviews and acceptable behaviour contracts where breaches of these could lead to ASBO's.

Plans are already in place for the officers who will be working on Operation Rockport.
