Olivia Lee and Kallum Roberts qualify for Trampoline and Tumbling Regional Final

Date published: 09 May 2014

Olivia Lee and Kallum Roberts, members of Middleton Trampoline Club, have qualified for the Trampoline and Tumbling Regional Final in June.

The pair secured their places in the final by coming first at events held in January, February and March of this year.

Head coach Lisa Lee said: “I am tremendously proud of them. They have worked really hard and have managed to juggle the stresses of being a teenager with school work and practice.”

The pair will now travel to the finals, which will be held in Exeter.

Before the competition, Olivia and Kallum will get the chance to train with elite coaches to work on their routines.

“For them to hear praise from other coaches will be great for them. We only have a small number of coaches here so for them to get the praise and support from elite coaches will be great,” added Lisa.

Olivia and Kallum (who has autism) have never competed in a competition of this level before.

Lisa added: “They have managed to do so well in the competition and keep on top of everything at school. Kallum has just achieved his Functional Skills Level 1 which is the equivalent to a Grade B in GCSE maths and ICT and Olivia is achieving A* grades as she prepares for her GCSEs.”

This is now another achievement that the club can add to an already successful year. At the start of the year, the club celebrated medal success when they won 19 medals at the National Development Plan Qualification Event and the Trampoline Tariff Competition. The club then won a further 14 medals at the North West Trampolining Competition in April.

“Anything that we can do to add to our success we will do it,” said Lisa.

Lisa is also looking for help with coaching. Any coaches who would like to join Middleton Trampoline Club can contact Lisa:
