Date published: 09 May 2014
Members of the Rochdale Ramblers will be walking across Morecambe Bay for charity.
The walk, which will take place on Sunday 20 July, is to raise money for the Friends of the Lake District and Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention.
So far the group have a number of members signed up to take part in the four hour walk across the bay.
Money raised from the walk will go on to support the work of the friends group and will help them inspire young people in the outdoors, create new woodland and protect the Lake District from damaging big developments as well as much more.
The event will see walkers walk from Arnside to White Creek as well as see them crossing the main channel, the River Kent estuary channel.
Footpath and Countryside Secretary for Rochdale Ramblers, Roy Thorniley said: “This is a walk you won’t forget.”
Entry for the walk is £10 and people can sign up to take part by visiting www.fld.org.uk
