The Year 7 and 8 Rugby teams took part in a 7’s Festival against Woodhey High School at Rochdale Rugby Union Club. Many boys were playing their first ever game of Rugby and did fantastically well. The Year 7 team narrowly lost their fixture and the Year 8 team won their fixture. The pupils below took part in the festival:

Year 7 team: Joe Moore, Luis Andrew, Zaki Bowden, Muzamil Bashir, Dylan Colclough, Andrew Hill, Sean Crossley, Aiden Lowe, Erren Dincer, Isma’il Mackmood, Ethan Dale, Jake Horrocks, Nicolas Sunderland and Bradley Gregory.

Year 8 team: Eddie Riley, Jack Turner, Dayne Stewart, Hayden Lewis, Danny Madeley, Callum Ruffell, Jordan Parkhill, Conner Marland Lord, Matthew Greenwood, Emerson Bradshaw and Hakeem Milla.

Well done to all the students who participated in the event.

GCSE exams for Year 10 and 11 students begin on Monday 12 May. Students have been preparing hard for these exams, and we wish them all the best of luck for these important exams.

Our next “Drop Everything and Read” session will take place between 1:30 and 1:55pm on Thursday 15 May. The aim of DEAR is to create a culture of reading for pleasure and to eradicate the stigma attached to reading. Students and staff will be taking part, and they will be encouraged to read from a variety of materials including books, newspapers and magazines.

The Parent Forum will be hosting their next meeting on Thursday 15 May from 6:00pm. New and existing members are welcome to attend.

Students registered for the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme will be undertaking a practice expedition from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 May.
