Friends and family of Aiden Lee Tancock Cecere, who passed away at just 25 days old as a result of a cot death, gathered today to celebrate what would have been his 18th birthday.
At a party organised by his mum, Tracy Heys, and family, the celebrations raised funds for the Lullaby Trust.
Tracy said: “I never got to have a birthday with him or have a birthday party for him so because it would have been his 18th birthday, I wanted to do what every other parent does and celebrate his birthday in the right way.”
Tracy added: “I got to spend 25 days with him and I wouldn’t change that for anything.”
At today’s fundraiser, Aiden’s family and friends as well as members from the local community, including Rochdale MP, Simon Danczuk, gathered at Brickcroft Social Club to celebrate and raise money for the Lullaby Trust.
Tracy said: “We have had so much support from the community. The whole of Rochdale has really come together and has supported us and that has meant so much to us.”
The event included a magician, Morris dancers, face painters, stall holders, a DJ, a mentalist, Mickey Mouse, an auction, a raffle, local musicians and much more.

The Lullaby Trust provides specialist support for bereaved families and promotes expert advice on safer baby sleep. The charity works with the NHS to run a national health-visitor led service for bereaved parents.
“Anything we can raise and give to them will be fantastic. For the work that they do, I just want to be able to give them something back,” said Tracy.
After the success of today’s event, Tracy says she will help other people support the Lullaby Trust. She said: “It has been such hard work but it has all been worth it. I would certainly help other people raise money for the charity. I just didn’t want to cry again this year and this has been a great way to celebrate Aiden.”
