Our House: It Must Be Love
For three nights, students from Rochdale Sixth Form College have wowed packed audiences with their version of Our House: It Must Be Love.
A team of 37 students, led by Laura Ainscow, teacher of drama, took responsibility for every element of the show, from performances through to backstage and costume design.
Our House tells the story of Joe Casey. Joe’s street is threatened to be demolished by a property developer, but it’s up to Joe to save the street his family built. It features music of the ska band, Madness.
The main character was played by two students, Liam Jenkins and Curtis Grime.
The students’ version of the play is set in Manchester, swapping Camden for Deansgate.
Rochdale Sixth Form College Principle, Julian Appleyard, said: “The effort and commitment of everyone involved was clear to see and talking to members of the audience they had a great time.”
Laura Ainscow said: “The College is proud of the cast and production team, it has been an absolute joy to work with the students.”
Rochdale Sixth Form College provides many extracurricular activities that students can get involved with.
