National quality mark for KYP

Date published: 01 May 2014

KYP has been accredited with the Matrix Standard, a nationally recognised quality mark for organisations providing support to individuals to make learning and work more accessible.

The rigorous assessment process, which took place at its Unique Enterprise Centre in March, included interviews with members of staff, as well as with groups of learners and external partners.

KYP has over 2000 clients/learners accessing information, advice and guidance annually and it wanted to ensure that they were receiving the best information, advice and guidance possible. The organisation decided that the Matrix Standard would, amongst other things, help it to support local residents, learners and service users to access impartial advice and guidance.

KYP Chief Executive Zulf Ahmed said: “We are delighted that we have achieved the Matrix Quality Mark.

"KYP has been providing information, advice and guidance to local people since its inception over 34 years ago and this recognition highlights the quality and standard of service provided by KYP.”

Julia Stokes, Matrix Assessor, concluded in her report: “The impression identified from the assessment is that the quality of service delivered and confirmed by clients is of a high standard. Clients commented that without the support of KYP staff they would not have progressed as far as they have. This in itself is a credit to how KYP staff conducts its service delivery.”
