Man hospitalised after being trapped in machinery at work
Date published: 30 April 2014
A man is in hospital after being trapped in machinery at Inktech Ltd on Crawford Street, Rochdale.
Thirty staff were evacuated and Crawford Street was closed to traffic this morning (30 April).
The man had been freed by the time the fire service arrived. However, as the company produces inks, the man was contaminated and the Detection, Inspection & Monitoring Unit was in attendance to de-contaminate him before he was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police, ambulance, fire service and the Health & Safety Executive were all at the scene.
The fire service monitored the premises until 1.00pm and found the building to be safe.
The man remains in hospital.
