Vandals target cars at Watergrove Reservoir

Date published: 30 April 2014

Visitors to Watergrove Reservoir are being asked to be extra careful after vandals damage parked cars for the second time in a week.

The latest report was made yesterday evening (Monday 28 April) after a mother and her daughter returned to their car to find the back window and passenger windows smashed.

A second car had also had its windows smashed and a third had received damage to its side.

The incident is believed to have taken place between 4.25pm and 5.55pm when the mother and daughter went for a run around the reservoir.

A similar incident was also reported to police last week.

Inspector Niall Pawson from Rochdale Police said: “We have now increased our patrols in the area and will be including the area as part of our daily patrols. We are asking people using the car park at the reservoir to not leave items on display and to report any incidents of people acting suspiciously in the area.”

Reports can be made to the police by contacting 101.
