Threlkeld Court residents serve up a healthy feast!

Date published: 30 April 2014

Residents from Threlkeld Court in Langley served up a treat for their friends from Clough Court on Monday 28 April by holding a “come dine with us” event.

The tenants cooked a feast of ‘diet-coke chicken’ with healthy potato wedges, followed by a healthy trifle, both of which got a firm thumbs up from their visitors. A second event will be held at Clough Court in May.

Carol Keogh from Threlkeld Court said: “I thought the event went very well, everyone looked like they enjoyed themselves and we certainly enjoyed preparing the food.”

Dot Wild from Clough Court said: “The food was absolutely delicious, we will have a tough job to keep up with those standards when it comes to our turn next month.”

Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) activities co-ordinator Rachel Saunders has organised healthy eating classes at the two Middleton sheltered schemes, with funding assistance from Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale NHS CCG, and residents have organised two 'come dine with us' lunches to put their newly-learned skills into practice.
