Tickets for our forthcoming Dance show, ‘Distraction’ are now available from the CEPA Office, priced £3.00 (no concessions). The show takes place on Thursday the 22 May 2014 from 6pm until 8pm in the FPHS Heartspace. Tickets can only be purchased in advance only. The show features a wide range of dance pieces and styles from across all years and should prove to be a wonderful evening. For more details, please see Ms Wystawnoha.

Our two CALL Visits to Liverpool take place on Tuesday, 13 May 2014 from 8.20pm until 5.00pm for the ‘K’ Cohort and 8.20pm until 5.00pm Friday, 16 May 2014 from 8.20pm until 5.00pm for the ‘F Cohort. Approximately 80 learners are involved in visits each day. Learners are to go directly to the heartspace and not to classes. They should also remember to bring a waterproof coat, bag and a packed lunch for the day, unless they are in receipt of free school meals.

Congratulations to Cain Thomason, Junaid Rahman and Shibul Ahmed in Year 7 who were the winners of the ‘See See TV’ Drama Department Competition. Each of the learners earned a certificate and a free pair of tickets to see our great show. Well done to all the students involved in the competition. Don’t forget there is time to enter the forthcoming ‘Minotaur’ Mask and Costume Competition which closes on the Friday 2 May 2014.

Images of our old school in various stages of demolition are now available to view on the school website. Students are reminded to remain in clearly marked areas of our new school at all times to ensure safety.

CALL Learners are about to start on a new project entitled ‘Insert Text Here’ which invites Year 7 learners to think about the ways language and living may change in the next fifty to a hundred years. Students will be working on a range of creative processes and writing activities and a showcase will take place in early July. For more details please see Mr De Courcey.

Rehearsals started this week for our forthcoming production titled ‘Boy Soldiers’ which takes place on Tuesday 2 June from 6pm until 7.30pm in the FPHS Heartspace. The original drama explores the role of children at the frontline in WWI and extended highlights will feature in the ‘Project Tommy’ Showcase at the Imperial War Museum on Sunday 8 June from 6pm until 8pm. Many thanks to the students of Healey Primary School who joined us for a ‘Prehistoric Art!’ Workshop led by Ms Rogerson this week. Learners explored the ways learners decorated caves and used a range of art techniques. Well done to everyone who was involved in the workshop and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

School is in the process of trialling some different software to make communication and online payments more efficient. Please can you as parents/carers ensure that school holds up to date email and mobile phone information wherever possible. This can either be sent into school via students or emailed to office@falingepark.com. Please include your name and the name of your child.
