Hospice to Hopsice Walk
Over 160 people turned up to support Springhill Hospice on Sunday (27 April) to take part in the Hospice to Hospice walk.
Old faces and new faces supported the Hospice in their walk from Springhill Hospice to Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in Oldham.
Lillie Winterbottom, Springhill Hospice Community Fundraiser, said: “It was a fantastic day. We almost doubled our figure of people involved from last year and the weather was great so it all made for a great day.”
To complete the 7.25 mile walk, walkers set off from Springhill Hospice at 10:30am. Refreshments were then available at Dr Kershaw’s before the group set off and made their way back to Springhill Hospice.
Whilst walkers walked from Springhill Hospice to Dr Kershaw’s, a group of walkers from Dr Kershaw’s made their way to Springhill Hospice.
People in attendance included familiar faces who take part every year, a mother and daughter who wanted to support a local charity, a woman who wanted to meet like minded people and a large group of staff from James Nuttall Transport who are fundraising for the Hospice.
Lille added: “It was nice to see so many people come out and support the hospice as well as Dr Kershaw’s because we are both celebrating our 25th anniversary this year.”
