Go Green Day - Springhill Hospice
Springhill Hospice have bought the Craven Heifer on Broad Lane, Rochdale.
The building will be used as the fund-raising offices for the Hospice. It is also hoped that the lower floor of the building will be used as a tea room and a shop with the upper floor being used as office space.
The team hope to move to the new premises within the next few weeks as it is currently being renovated.
Community Fundraiser Lillie Winterbottom said: “We hope it becomes a nice little hub for everyone.”
La Minhaz in Middleton held an event yesterday evening (Thursday 25 April) and raised £385 for the Hospice.
Yorkshire Bank is holding a curry and comedy event tonight at Rochdale Rugby Union Club (Friday 26 April). The event is sold out with organisers hoping for a good evening.
Dates for the Diary
Sunday 27 April – Hospice to Hospice Walk. The hospice has now doubled the number of participants for the walk compared to last year's walk.
Currently 130 people are registered to take part with more anticipated to come along on the day. Anyone wishing to take part should arrive at the Hospice for 10am. The cost is £5 with donations to the hospice appreciated.
Saturday 3 May – The final of Castleton’s Got Talent.The final of Castleton’s Got Talent will be held at the Commercial Pub all in aid of Springhill Hospice.
Sunday 4 May – Pooley’s Family Fun Day. The event will be held at Graham Poole transport with all money being raised for the Hospice. The event will include a car boot sale, digger rides, crafts and much more.
Woman of Rochdale
Nominations for the Woman of Rochdale have now closed. The winner of the award, and the winner of the Young Woman of Rochdale, will be announced at a special luncheon on Friday 9 May.
Go Green for Springhill
The Hospice is overwhelmed with the response to the Go Green event. Members of the fund-raising team have recently visited Littleborough,
Heywood and Middleton to hand out leaflets regarding the event.
Springhill Hospice Community Fundraiser, Lillie Winterbottom will be dying her hair green for the day.
The Circle, Tilly’s Tea Room and RBH have also signed up to take part in the event.
