93 young people attend holiday 'club'

Date published: 25 April 2014

Redwood Secondary School is a pioneering secondary special school situated on a co-located site with Oulder Hill Community School in Rochdale. We are currently one of the largest providers of extra curricular activities in the region with our school holiday clubs being a particular highlight.

Over Easter 93 young people attended the holiday provision where they were given the opportunity to take part in activities such as cooking, sports, sensory play, art and many more. Young people also had the opportunity to take part in a gymnastics session hosted by Rochdale Gymnastics.

We’ve had great feedback from parents who are incredibly supportive of the provision which is a huge part of the success. Below are are just a small selection of their comments:

“Thankyou so much it's a godsend”

“Sessions are amazing!”

“Thanks to everyone the holiday club is a vital lifeline that breaks up school holidays. It is excellent value for money.”

Redwood is always looking to the future and planning has already started for the next clubs which will be over summer for 3 weeks of the holidays. Summer is always our busiest time and we are expecting over 100 young people to apply for a place.
