Papa’s Takeaway closed under Anti Social Behaviour Act
Papa’s Takeaway on Spotland Road, Falinge has been closed until 22 May when a court hearing will decide on the future on the business.
The closure comes under the Anti Social Behaviour Act and is the first to be undertaken in Rochdale.
Police served a notice on the takeaway yesterday (Wednesday 9 April) as part of Operation Rakanda, with the police appearing in court this morning (Thursday 10 April) regarding the issue.
Detective Inspector Michelle Hughes from Rochdale Police said: “This is the first time that this has happened in Rochdale. It is all down to operation Rakanda and the fall out from that operation. This is something we will continue to do and something we will continue tofollow up with.”
Operation Rakanda is an ongoing operation that was set up to deal with community concerns regarding street drug dealing.
