Help find the ‘People’s Star’

Date published: 10 April 2014

Rochdale Borough residents have been given a unique opportunity to nominate a ‘People’s Star’ from GPs, practice managers, practice nurses and GP receptionists.

The award has been created to mark the first anniversary of NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group (HMR CCG).

The People’s Star award will recognise the person or team considered by patients and the public to have provided high quality, compassionate and individual patient care.

Dr Chris Duffy, Chairman of NHS HMR CCG, said: “We believe we have a very talented CCG team and that there is exceptional primary care provided by individuals and teams in practices across the borough. That’s why we decided to celebrate HMR CCG’s first anniversary by launching a scheme to recognise the passion, commitment and hard work we see on a daily basis.

“So, if you’ve been impressed with the care you’ve received or the way you’ve been treated by your GP or someone at your GP practice, this is your chance to say thank you by nominating them for the People’s Star award.”

To help with shortlisting and the final selection of winners, residents are encouraged to write 200 words about the person or team they wish to nominate. This could be about their achievements, their approach to colleagues, patients, work, change or challenges, or just reasons why they are a great example for others and employees of which the NHS can be proud.
