Man charged following an assault

A man has been charged following an assault in Rochdale.
Carl Fletcher, 23, from Rochdale has been charged with section 18 assault.
He appeared before Bury Magistrates’ Court on Monday 8 April 2014 where he was remanded in custody.
He will next appear at Minshull Street Crown Court on 28 April 2014.
Shortly after 6pm on Saturday 5 April 2014, police and ambulance were called to Duke Street, Falinge, Rochdale following a report of an assault.
A 34-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries. He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Two other men who were arrested on suspicion of assault have been released without charge.
