Fly tipping on Mitchell Street

Date published: 02 April 2014

Residents living in the vicinity of Mitchell Street are angry at ongoing fly tipping in the area.

Residents in the area state that “people are throwing rubbish out of cars and fly tipping on Mitchell Street.”

A spokesperson for Rochdale Borough Council said: “Officers investigate all incidents of fly-tipping and take action against individuals responsible for the waste and also those to whom it originally belonged.

“Residents should only employ licensed waste carriers to remove waste from their homes or businesses with a full list available on the Environment Agency website and they should always obtain a receipt from the carrier.”

“If residents witness fly-tipping, descriptions of those involved, their vehicles or confirmation of their address could be invaluable.
