Lottery heritage bid and market consultation results expected soon

The result of the lottery heritage bid in regards to the River Roch reopening are expected in June with the market consultation results expected in April.
The lottery heritage bid was made to facilitate the River Roch to be re-opened in the town centre. It is hoped that three sections of the river will be re-opened, uncovering the 14th century medieval bridge.
A public consultation regarding plans for Rochdale Market was also recently undertaken. It is understood that results from the online segment of the consultation have been collated with hard copies of the results still being processed.
A public consultation regarding the markets began in January following the council taking over the market charter.
