Springhill Hospice Spring Fair

Date published: 30 March 2014

Springhill Hospice held a Mother’s Day Spring Fair Extravaganza today (Sunday 30 March) to celebrate Mother’s Day and to raise money for the hospice.

The fair, which included over 50 stalls and attractions, attracted hundreds of people, including Mayor Peter Rush and Mayoress Monica Rush.

Mayor Rush said: “It is a pleasure to be here on this beautiful day to support this event. There are people from across the whole of the borough supporting the hospice, which is great to see. There is always so much happiness at the Hospice despite the circumstances surrounding people being here.”

Stalls at the fair included jewellery, cards, bags, toys, plants and much more.

Attractions for children included a bouncy castle and a number of raffles and games around the whole of the fair with Springy the Hospice frog on hand to help with fund-raising.

Alison McGuigan, Fundraising Lead at the Hospice, said: “The fair gets bigger and bigger every year and today we have seen a great turn out. We have to thank everyone who has been involved because without them this wouldn’t have been possible. We are now looking forward to doing it all over again in the summer.”
