Taira Booth and her fundraisers
Keep fit fans have raised £155 for WellChild. More than 30 Zumba and boot camp regulars raised the money for the children’s charity last week at Norden Community Primary School.
Taira Booth, of T ‘n’ B Fitness and Dance, runs both Zumba and Boot Camp classes every week and decided to raise the money by asking those taking part to make a donation to WellChild.
Taira said “I knew that the guys in Norden would be supportive so instead of paying for their classes I asked them for a donation to Wellchild. I specialise in ladies fitness so I meet a lot of mums, grans and aunties who don’t need any persuading to help a charity for sick children.”
The school then matched Taira’s commitment by donating the use of the hall so that every penny raised by the event went to the charity.
Clive Wilson, the school’s business manager said: “We are here for our local community and offer everything from fitness to pottery. On this occasion we were able to help and we are proud to support Taira.”
Taira teaches classes and offers one-to-one coaching all over the area and is hoping to do more fundraising throughout the year.
She added: “I picked WellChild because one of my spinning class students was working with them. We may do something in the summer to do with cycling. They are a great charity.”
