Man who was shot after complaining about damage to his property thanks firm who fixed the damage

Date published: 25 March 2014

Peter Ross, from Norden, has thanked Chris Bell and his company H Bell and Sons for their work and support after a dispute which led to Mr Ross being shot in May 2006.

Mr Ross provided Chris Bell with a specially made cake as a way of a thank you today (Tuesday 25 March) by friend Steve Barton.

Mr Ross’ property was damaged and when he raised his concerns he was shot at point blank range causing physical and internal injuries.

“I have recovered from the physical injuries but it is the internal injuries that haven’t healed. I have issues with my brain such as a blood clot and ongoing internal issues that affect my balance and things,” said Peter.

Chris Bell and his company were then brought in by Mr Ross to fix the issues on his property.

Peter added: “H Bell and Sons have offered continued support throughout a tough time. They have helped me out with the work on my home and financially they have helped me as well.”

Chris Bell of H Bell and Sons said: “It is nice to help someone from the local community. I am very happy to receive this and didn’t expect it at all. I had no idea I was getting this when I came here this morning.”

H Bell and Sons are a family run company that have been established since 1912.
