Beech House School praised by inspectors

Date published: 25 March 2014

The Early Years Development section of Beech House School has been praised by inspectors after they were visited for two days by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).

Inspectors described the school as “outstanding” in a report produced after the visit. The report stated: “The provision for the nursery children is constantly good and often outstanding. Children under the age of three make excellent progress in the prime areas of learning and the outcomes are outstanding.”

The report went on to say that older nursery children also “made good and often outstanding progress.”

Beech House School has a school ethos to produce a “happy, harmonious community”, something which the report supported.

Inspectors added: “The children's excellent behaviour is a feature of their outstanding personal and social development. Parents are overwhelmingly supportive of all aspects of school life. They were unanimous in their praise of the school, particularly with regard to the welcoming atmosphere and levels of care.”

Pupils and staff were all delighted with the outcome of the report with Headmaster, Kevin Sartain saying: “I am extremely proud of both staff and pupils.”

The ISI is a government approved inspectorate responsible for the inspection of association independent schools.
