Man in hospital with head injuries following hit and run

A man is in a stable condition in hospital after being involved in a collision with a car on Howard Street, Falinge. The driver of the car failed to stop and drove off towards Whitehall Street.
The 29-year-old man was hit by what is believed to be a silver Vauxhall Astra, registered between 1998 and 2004, and possibly a five door hatchback.
The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment to head injuries and remains in a stable condition.
Officers investigating the collision, which happened at about 7.05pm on Thursday 20 March 2014, have recovered a car as part of the ongoing investigation.
