Chief Superintendent Annette Anderson to step down

Chief Superintendent Annette Anderson will be stepping down from her role as head of Rochdale Police two weeks after it was announced she will be taking dual control of the
Rochdale and Bury divisions.

Head of Stockport Police, Chief Superintendent Chris Sykes will be taking over the role from Monday (24 March).

Assistant Chief Constable Garry Shewan from Greater Manchester Police, said: “I am pleased to announce Chief Superintendent Chris Sykes as Divisional Commander for Rochdale and Bury. Chris was formerly in charge of Stockport and will take over the role as part of the restructure of Divisional Commanders across Greater Manchester.

“Chief Superintendent Caroline Ball has taken over as commander for Stockport Division in addition to her responsibility of Oldham and Tameside. Chief Superintendent Annette Anderson has taken on a role at Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary.

“Our Superintendents continue to be in post at each division and they are responsible for operational policing. They are supported by our neighbourhood policing teams who are responsible for community policing across Greater Manchester.

“In addition our officers and staff continue to work with partners to ensure residents and visitors to the town receive the same level of service and commitment."
