Concerns raised about illegal parking on Milnrow Road

Date published: 19 March 2014

Concerns have been raised about a number of cars regularly parking illegally along Milnrow Road, Rochdale.

Photos sent to Rochdale Online show cars parked illegally on the road and residents claim that “nothing is ever done about it”.

Concerns were raised after reports emerged that half of the highways in England need road markings replaced. Residents agree that this may be the case but are concerned that those road markings that are visible are simply ignored by road users.

A spokesperson for Rochdale Borough Council said: “We work hard to keep the highways clear and our patrols visit Milnrow Road regularly, issuing Penalty Charge Notices to illegally parked vehicles. We also monitor and take action in ‘hotspot locations’ – areas where the public have reported parking to be particularly problematic. Residents can email parking.services@rochdale.gov.uk to let us know about such issues.”
