Milnrow and Newhey spring clean volunteers
A dozen volunteers, supported by the council’s environmental management team, turned up for the first of the Milnrow and Newhey Community spring cleans for 2014.
20 sacks of litter and over a ton of mud was cleared from paths between Cornfield Street and Charles Lane in Milnrow.
The volunteers will be out again on Saturday 29 March in Milnrow and Newhey between 10am and 12pm.
Councillor Andy Kelly said: “One of the main things people mention to me on the doorsteps is the state of litter in the villages, so we asked folk to nominate areas they would like to see cleaned up and then just got on and did it.”
