Pensioner receives head injuries after car collides with ambulance

A man in his 80s received minor head injuries after his car collided with an ambulance on Bury and Rochdale Old Road, Heywood on Friday (14 March) night.
The man, who was driving a Nissan Micra collided with the ambulance and flipped his car just after 11:30pm.
The man received minor head injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. It is understood that no one in the ambulance was injured.
Police confirmed the incident and added: “Nothing indicates that the ambulance was doing anything wrong at the time.”
A section of the road near Albert Lane was closed for around 90 minutes.
