The Hospice has been launching their Go Green for Springhill event for most of the week and held a special launch event on Wednesday evening.

Now the Hospice is preparing for their Mother’s Day Spring Fair. The fair takes place on Sunday 30 March at the Hospice and will include a number of stalls and the option of afternoon tea.

On Monday 24 March there will be a battle of the birthdays when Springy the Hospice frog celebrates his birthday along with fund raising team member Cath.

On Saturday 29 March, supporters of the Hospice Bobby Shanks Jnr, Johnny Kerr, Sam Poulton and Tom Barker will be taking part in a parachute jump for the hospice. This will be taking place in Bridlington but is weather dependent.

Thursday 27 March – Hospice at Home Quiz at Milnrow Cricket Club. There are still a few tickets available for the event.

Woman of Rochdale

The 2013 Woman of Rochdale was award to Doreen Stott of Norden. Doreen was awarded Woman of Rochdale in light of her continued work for Parkinson’s UK Rochdale and the Mayor’s Charity appeal.

Members of the public can put forward nominations for Woman of Rochdale which are then short listed before a chosen committee make the final decision of a winner.

Go Green for Springhill

Go Green for Springhill Hospice is a fundraising day which will take place on Friday 16 May. The aim is to get members of the public to fundraise for the hospice by incorporating the colour green.

Students from Holy Trinity Primary School in Littleborugh helped with publicity for the event by dressing in green.

St Cuthbert’s Secondary School will be holding a cake sale to raise money for the Hospice. The cakes will be decorated with green icing and fruit. This type of fundraising has proved popular for the school with previous cake sales raising nearly £200.
