Adjudicator Kevin Rivett with a member of Wardle Academy’s Folk Group
Wardle Academy’s Folk Group performed at the Rochdale Festival of Performing Arts on Friday 7 March.
After a fantastic performance, they received a score of 98 out of 100 and they were awarded Honours for their performances.
The group played two pieces. The first piece was Cooney’s Reel into The Banshee and the second piece was Waterbound.
The adjudicator, Kevin Rivett from Calderdale Music Service, said the group had ‘impressive solos’ and ‘bucket loads of talent’.
Janet Emsley, Director of Performing Arts, said, ‘The Folk Group gave a beautiful performance and I was pleased to see them enjoying playing in the festival.’
