Spotland Pride and REAG join forces
Spotland Pride and Rochdale Environmental Action Group joined forces to clean Rooley Moor Road, Churchill Street and adjoining streets for an hour on Sunday 9 March. Councillor Cecile Biant and Councillor Surinder Biant led the clean up.
Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE, Secretary of the Rochdale Environmental Action Group, said: "I was very impressed with the commitment and dedication of the members of Spotland Pride and particularly the leadership of two ward councillors, i.e. Cecile Biant and Surrinder Biant, and hope that councillors in other wards also take this leadership role and engage the local community.
"I will raise it with other members of the Rochdale Environmental Action Group and we may have more joint clean ups in Spotland area.
"Rochdale is our town and we should be proud to keep it clean."
