Drake Street closed for manhole cover repairs
Date published: 10 March 2014
Drake Street was closed from Saturday 1 March to Sunday 2 March so that work could be carried out on manholes.
The website for Rochdale Borough Council stated that there was a “temporary road closure between Smith Street and Water Street to facilitate safe manhole cover repairs.”
Transport for Greater Manchester confirmed the work and added: “Lower Drake Street was closed last weekend to rectify two rocking manhole covers that were in the direct wheel path of buses.”
The street is now open as usual.
