Redwood School to host national SEN conference

Redwood School in Rochdale has been chosen to host a national Special Educational Needs (SEN) conference on Wednesday 12 March.

The school, which was chosen based on its outstanding Ofsted report, will also hold a second conference in May.

The conference is regarding the personal development and well being of SEN students and will see delegates from various special schools across the country spend the day at Redwood.

As part of the conference, those attending will be able to learn more about Redwood's outstanding practice as well as being able to find out more about a number of workshops that the school delivers.

Workshops that the school deliver include the Internship Programme, the Bridging Year Course, Redwood’s 5 Outcomes, The Pupil Voice, PE and Healthy Lifestyle assessments, the Intervention Programmes and learning approaches and staff training and development.

A spokesperson for Redwood Secondary School said: “It is an acknowledgment of the hard work by all of the staff that we have been selected to host this national conference.”

The conference has been commissioned by the education body SSAT.
