Heywood film producer Baldwin Li missed out on an Oscar at this year's Academy Awards.
Baldwin’s film, The Voorman Problem, was nominated in the Best Live Action Short but lost out to Helium.
Baldwin, who attended the 86th Academy Awards, congratulated Helium. He wrote: “Congratulations to Helium for their Best Live Action Short win at the Oscars 2014.”
The Voorman Problem is a 13 minute long film that was shot in Manchester. It tells the story of a prisoner who believes he is god. Played by Tom Hollander, the prisoner is assessed by his psychiatrist, played by Marin Freeman who must asses if he is telling the truth.
Continuing his congratulations, Baldwin added: “Thanks for everyone's messages of support during one of the craziest life experiences I've ever had (that's the Oscars for those that don't know). We won't be bringing home golden statues but have a wealth of fond memories and experiences that won't be forgotten.
“Thanks again to Alastair Connolly who had the foresight to believe that we could go all the way to the top with this project - we couldn't have made this film without you - and to all the amazing cast and crew who have been part of this incredible journey. Oh, and huge thanks to my mum and dad the amazing Tyze Kai Tai Li and Moi Li.”
The film had also previously been nominated for a BAFTA.
