Radio Station visit Wardle Academy

Date published: 06 March 2014

On Tuesday 4 March, 48 Wardle Academy Year 10 pupils were treated to a visit from Key 103 radio station.

The students are working towards their Level 1 AQA qualification in Radio Production and were visited by the Key 103 Media Bus and two people from the station. The students visited the bus in groups of 12 and were treated to a range of activities and given tasks to complete.

12 pupils have been chosen from the visit to spend the day at the Key 103 studios, where they will interview a sports personality and record a radio programme next week. On Deep Learning Day, all 48 students will do a follow up session with Key 103 coming back into school to deliver an all-day session.

Mrs Slater said: “The students had a fantastic time when Key 103 visited.

“They were involved in group work and quizzes and really impressed the staff at Key 103 with their knowledge. 12 students were chosen on the day, as they were exceptional, and will be visiting the Key 103 studio next week to interview a local sports star and produce a radio programme."

Mrs Slater and Miss Colenutt are extremely proud of all the students for their excellent participation and behaviour on the day.
