Anti Social Behaviour is down and police are on track for their record for across the borough.

Reports state that the people in the town are generally feeling safer at night.

Robberies are a priority across the borough.

A Metrolink report is presented next.

The report states that there is no date yet for the opening of the town centre Metrolink station.

A presentation by the Friends of Springfield Park regarding Mereside House is made.

The group want to seek support from councillors to turn the house into a café.

After much support for the report, councillors decide to seek further approval from officers after concerns were raised about the house and want a report for the September Township meeting.

The group aren’t happy with the decision and state that if the decision is only made in September, the council may not have a friends group.

The open forum is next.

Questions are raised regarding the Turner Brother’s Asbestos site.

Answers are wanted regarding the safety of the site.

The Naden Mill adoption is discussed next.

The report has been brought back to the committee after further consultation with concerned residents.

Councillors agree to adopt Naden Mill and agree the report.

A report surrounding compulsory purchase orders is next.

The report is regarding 10 sites.

Councillor Linden states that some sites need more work quicker than others.

Councillors agree the report.

The council’s asset strategy is presented next.

Councillors note the report after it was approved by the Cabinet.

Disposal of land at Tweedale Street is next.

The site is a potential development site for either residential development or commercial development.

As a ward councillor, Councillor Linden fully supports the report and would like to see residential development on the site.

Councillors move the recommendation.

The Highways Investment programme is presented next.

There are 155 highways schemes across the Rochdale Township with 98% of them being completed by the end of March.

Councillor Hobhouse states that the programme has been very successful and makes the borough better.

Councillors are also asked to approve two new schemes.

Councillors approve the schemes.
