Pupils from Holy Trinity Primary School dress up for World Book Day
Staff and students at Holy Trinity Primary school in Littleborough celebrated World Book Day on Tuesday by dressing up as characters from their favourite books.
Pupils from all year groups at the school turned up in fancy dress to celebrate authors, illustrators, books and reading.
Costumes included the Very Hungry Caterpillar, the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz, The Cat in the Hat, characters from Lego, Smurfs, and a number of characters from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
World Book Day this year is Thursday 6 March and is being celebrated for its 17th year, with the main aim of the day being to encourage children to explore the pleasure of books and reading.
