There have been no burglary dwellings in the Milnrow area during the month of February.

Your Local Officers and PCSOs will be focusing on these priorities over the next month giving a high visibility presence in the areas that have been affected.

Surgery Dates

Police surgeries for 2014 will be at the Co-operative Food Store car park, Dale Street, Milnrow. The surgeries will all be held on Saturday’s at 10am- 12noon. The dates for the next meetings are:

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) OperationThere has been an ANPR

Operation running this week targeting Traffic Offences. On Wednesday alone:

• Five cars were seized due to the driver having no insurance
• A male was arrested for Possession With Intent to Supply Drugs
• A male who was acting suspiciously was strip searched his mobile phone was also seized

Crime Prevention - Advice on protecting your vehicle

Most car thieves are opportunistic, which means there are simple steps you can take to greatly reduce the chances of having your vehicle targeted

• Park in secure or well-lit areas wherever possible 
• Before leaving your car, close all windows, set any security devices and remove all valuables, especially sat navs and their mounting cradles. All doors should be locked and checked manually, as automatic locking devices can sometimes suffer from interference
• If you must leave your vehicle unattended with valuables inside, make sure you lock them in the boot out of sight. Remember that some stores will keep items for you so you can collect them later
• Do not leave car keys on view in your home, and make sure they are kept away from doors or windows to prevent hook-and-cane thefts
