Vincenzo Iannidinardi raises money for WellChild

Vincenzo Iannidinardi is raising money for the children's charity WellChild by taking part in bike rides.

Vincenzo will be completing a six hour bike ride in Fitness for Life Gym tomorrow (Sunday 2 March) before completing a cycle to London in the summer.

"We have £300 committed for the event tomorrow but I'm hoping by the time the summer comes, we'll be looking at more towards the £1,000 range,” said Vincenzo.

Vincenzo was in the Exchange Shopping centre today to raise further funds for his cause by having a display of bikes and collection buckets.

He added: "We have had a lot of interest today and have had a lot of people coming over to have a look. Kids are always interested in bikes and always want to get on one, even though they can't ride them."

As well as support from Rochdale residents, the charity bike ride has been given support by Rochdale based companies Fitness for Life Gym and Cycle Addicts. Cycle Addicts will be supplying Vincenzo with a bike for his ride and Fitness for Life Gym have been helping Vincenzo with training.

Vincenzo said: "All of the support is coming from Rochdale and both companies have been great. The gym has helped me with fitness and has given me a training programme and Cycle Addicts are giving me a new bike for the cycle so they have been great in helping."

Vincenzo chose WellChild as his charity to raise funds for with the main reason being that people can see where the money will be spent.

He said: "You often see people raising money for charity but I think with this charity you can see exactly where the money is going and I think that helps people when they are donating."

WellChild is the national charity for sick children, which provides essential, practical and emotional support for seriously ill children, young people and those who care for them across the UK.
