Arrests/Warrants:
Common assault and burglary: On 26.02.14 on Wentworth Close, Middleton, two juvenile males were arrested for common assault during the arrest officers found stolen property in one of the male’s bedroom, that had been taken during a burglary on the ‘A’ division, both males have been bailed to allow further enquires.

Public order-affray: Officers responded to reports of male chasing young children with a syringe. On arrival at the scene they were directed to Middleton bus station, a male was found who matched the description, he was subsequently detained. The male then became abusive and started to verbally abuse police officers using racial obscenities. Detainee was refused bail after charge and a court hearing was set for 12/03/14 Bury and Rochdale Magistrates.

Criminal damage to a vehicle: A male was arrested and charged for the offence of criminal damage to a vehicle parked outside a Pizza shop on Market Way Heywood. He was bailed to attend Bury and Rochdale Magistrates court on 12/03/14.

Theft and going equipped: A male placed items of goods total value £287 in a foiled bag and attempted to leave Tesco store in Middleton. Male was charged for the offence of Theft from a shop and was refused bail after charge and attended at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates court on 27/02/14

Burglary: A male has today been charged with burglary that was committed at a house on Manchester New Road on the 18 February 2014 and has attended Bury and Rochdale Magistrates court.

Crime Prevention tips for the week - bogus callers: A series of 60 second security videos all around simple security advice. Designed to provide easy step-by-step tips, including advice on products and how to install and use them, helping to make you and your property that little bit safer.

Bogus callers come in different guises, usually they want to try and trick you, to get into your home to steal. They may say they are from the water board, council, police or even a child wanting a ball back. If you’re not sure don’t open the door.

Events Update: that have taken place last/this week:
On Friday 21 February 2014 between 1300-1900 hrs PCSO Jefferson and PCSO Shepherd where available for any issues with regards to anti-social behaviour and to disrupt youths that have been causing problems in the area. They were in the mobile police station on Harwood Park/Birch Street, Heywood between times stated and had positive feedback from the community.

Events taking place next week:
The next PACT Meeting (Partners and Communities Together) for the Rochdale South Neighbourhood, Middleton area, will be held on Thursday 6 March at Middleton Arena at the township meeting between 6.15-6.45 pm, where members of the community can put their questions to the police, partner organisations and other members of the local community, with regards to community issues.

Coffee and Chat: PCSO Walsh will be attending Thomas Moore Hall on Alkrington, Middleton at 2.00pm to discuss any issues you have regarding anti-social behaviour or to offer advice on crime prevention.

New Home Watch Schemes:
A home watch scheme at Hayfield Close has been set up on the North Middleton beat, with the help of PCSO Oliver.
