Waithlands Road development nominated for building award

Date published: 28 February 2014

The new RBH homes on Waithlands Road in Newbold, designed by local architects CJ Partnership, and constructed by Rochdale-based Casey, have been nominated for a North West Regional Building Excellence Award.

The Building Excellence Award nominations are chosen by experts from Local Authority Building Control (LABC) for being “the essence of good buildings.”

The awards prize excellence from a technical and construction point of view - rewarding those who have come up with creative solutions for difficult problems on-site. The RBH development has been nominated in the “best small new housing” category, which is for developments of seven new homes or less.

Gemma Glossop, RBH Development Project Manager, said: “We are delighted that our fantastic new homes at Waithlands Road have been nominated for these prestigious awards. The homes have been designed and constructed to the highest of standards and we have received very positive feedback from the new residents.”

The Waithlands Road development began construction in May 2012, and the first families moved into the homes at the end of April 2013. These were first homes constructed by RBH as a mutual organisation and form part of the RBH commitment to build 100 new homes across the Borough in the period up to 2015.
