Students experience production in operation at Jaguar Land Rover

Date published: 28 February 2014

Economics students from Rochdale Sixth Form College recently visited the Jaguar Land Rover factory as part of their course.

As well as touring the factory and receiving a presentation from Land Rover, the trip enabled students to witness theory in practice.

The students were able to witness first-hand the role the government has had in subsidising/non-subsiding specific industries within the UK and the effect this has had on the economy.

Students were also able to identify and analyse the effects of division of labour and productive efficiency theory, all key parts of the economics syllabus.

At the end of the tour the students saw a limited edition Land Rover designed by Victoria Beckham.

Debra Hanna, Economics Teacher at Rochdale Sixth Form College, said: “This was a very worthwhile, educational and fun trip which all students thoroughly enjoyed. On the day there was a high level of enthusiasm, with all students participating in the great activities offered by Jaguar Land Rover.”
