Teegan Gritt and Chloe Dring will shave their heads for charity

Date published: 19 February 2014

Teenagers Teegan Gritt and Chloe Dring will be having their heads shaved as a way of raising money for the charity 'When You Wish Upon A Star'.

The cousins will be taking part in the fundraising event on Friday 21 February and will be doing it in full view of the general public by having their heads shaved in the shop window of 'Forget Me Not' in Castleton.

Teegan said: “It’s a bit mad but we will be doing it in the window of the shop where everyone can see.”

Teegan, is an avid fund raiser and often fund raises for different charities. This year any money she raises will be going to When You Wish Upon A Star. She added: “We decided on the charity because it’s a children’s charity.”

When You Wish Upon A Star is a charity which grants wishes of children suffering from life threatening illnesses. The charity started in 1990 and has so far granted over 14,500 wishes for children and their families.

Teegan, 17, and her cousin Chloe, 13, decided on the challenge because they wanted to be extreme. Teegan added: “You have to go to
extreme lengths to get money out of people and that is what we are doing.”

The girls originally had a fund raising target of £300 but have already hit that target and have raised £310.

Even though the girls are going to extreme lengths to raise the money, Teegan is prepared and has already bought a wig for after her head has been shaved. She said: “I won’t be walking around bald. I decided to buy a wig so that’s already been sorted.”
