James O’Connor charged with section 18 assault after man is left with life threatening injuries

James O’Connor (23/06/1981) of Great Arbor Way, Middleton, has been charged with section 18 assault and was due to appear at Bury Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 18 February 2014.
Around 2.10am on Sunday 16 February 2014 a 37-year-old man was assaulted outside the Assheton Arms on Market Place.
The man was taken to hospital in a critical condition. His injuries are believed to be life threatening.
