Teenager assaulted on Whitworth Road
Date published: 18 February 2014
A teenage boy was assaulted on Whitworth Road in the early hours of Saturday 8 February as he was making his way home from a party.
The 16-year-old was walking home along Whitworth Road when a silver car pulled over. It is understood that two men then got out of the vehicle and assaulted the teenager.
They proceeded to kick him in the back of the legs and punch him in the side of the head and the ribs before they left.
The teenager has suffered bruises as a result of the assault.
It is understood that this was an unprovoked attack and it is not clear why the attack took place.
Police are currently investigating the incident and said: “No arrests have yet been made.”
This incident is currently being treated as a separate incident to the assault which took place on two women on Whitworth Road on Monday 10 February.
A police spokesperson added: “It looks like they are two separate incidents and are not connected.”
