A number of Oulder Hill Community School students across KS3 were encouraged by their English teachers and Learning Resource Centre Manager, Mrs McCarry to enter a national Young Writer’s competition, entitled “A Twist in the Tale” and we are proud to announce the winners of the competition:

Bethany Mannan-Kellett, Nawhal Sarwar, Niamh Entwistle, Taylor Smith, Hakeem Gbajabiamila, Roan Cardona, Shanelle Kay, Callum Lord, Lenin Ndlovu, Umar Ahmed, Awais Rasool, Ryan McKinley, Abdullah Khan, William Pickard, Mohsin Hussain, Callum Riley, Muhammed Billal, Humaira Parveen, Jake Gregory, Marija Pogorelova, Steven Johnson, Thomas Wilcock, Jude English, Leah Smith and Areeba Masood

We’re all really proud of your achievement – well done!

On Thursday 13 February Enterprise groups from Year 10 and Year 11 attended a Young Enterprise Event at The Trafford Centre. The event allowed participants to compete against other schools whilst showcasing their products to the general public.

All of the students involved worked very hard; Year 10 opted to sell hand decorated single red roses for Valentine’s Day while Year 11 showcased their Cultures Unite brand and sold wristbands to raise money for anti-bullying charities.

All of the teams at the event did a fantastic job and there were some great products and concepts on display. Both of our teams were complimented on their ideas and stall design by the judges, general public and other competitors.

School reopens after half term at 8:30am on Tuesday 25 February due to an INSET Day on Monday 24. We hope you have a nice, relaxing break, and look forward to welcoming all students back rested and ready to learn on Tuesday 25.
