Man attacked outside Middleton pub suffers life threatening injuries

A man is in a critical condition after being attacked outside a pub in Middleton.
Around 2.10am on Sunday 16 February 2014 a 37-year-old man was assaulted outside the Assheton Arms on Market Place.
The man was taken to hospital in a critical condition where his injuries at this stage are believed to be life threatening.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses.
Detective Constable Dan Daly said: "There were a number of people at the pub at the time of the attack, both inside and outside, and we would ask that these people come forward and tell police what they may have seen or heard.
"We would ask anyone who has any information about who may be involved to call us urgently."
